Your footage stays on your machine
Sync footage without uploading it
Use a tool that does the work where the footage already is. PimCut runs in your web browser: the files are read on your machine, the analysis runs on your machine, and the result is a timeline file written on your machine that your editing software opens with your original files. No frame, no audio and no waveform is uploaded; once you sign in to export, your account keeps the project's names and placements, never the media.
That is not a setting to find and switch on; it is how the product is built. It matters when the footage belongs to a client, sits under an agreement, or is simply too big to send anywhere.
- Can I use files that are in Google Drive?
- Yes, if you connect Drive yourself. The files are read from Drive into your browser and analysed there; they are not sent to us.
- What do I get back?
- A timeline file for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve that points at your original files, with every synced take in place. Your footage stays where it was.
Four things do reach a server: content-free usage counts, nameless until you sign in, with no switch to turn them off; Google Drive, only when you connect it yourself; ad measurement, which sees which pages you visit and what you buy, never your files, never your media; and audience measurement, a separate system told only which pages were opened — no account, no identifier of ours, nothing that could name a file.
