Sync a multicam podcast without timecode

Two or three cameras, one good recorder on the desk, camera mics on everything. PimCut lines the cameras up by what they all heard of that one recording — no timecode, no clapper, nothing uploaded — and sync runs on it today. Anything it cannot place honestly is refused by name rather than guessed at. The beat-matched first assembly is built for music today, so on a podcast you take the synced timeline into Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve and cut it there.

Do I need timecode or a clapper?
No. The shared audio is the reference. Every camera that recorded the same room can be placed against the recorder file — which is why camera scratch audio, the track nobody keeps, is the track that does the work.
What does the recording have to be?
One audio file that every camera can be heard against, over the same stretch of time. On a desk shoot that is normally the recorder or the board mix. It does not have to be music and it does not have to be clean; it has to be shared.
What happens to my footage?
Nothing leaves your machine. The analysis runs in the browser, so no frame, no audio, no waveform and no filename is uploaded. Analysis, sync and triage are free and need no account — payment is only asked at export, and your first week is on us.
